ActionsEnvironment
Since 2011, Gentera has been monitoring its environmental performance and establishing medium and long-term actions in line with the environmental commitments consolidated in the ESG Strategic Policy, aimed at:
- Minimize environmental impacts derived from our operations by using materials and processes with lower environmental impact.
- Monitor the consumption of resources, such as electricity and gasoline, to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Comply with current environmental regulations applicable to the sector to which we belong.
- Promote an environmental culture of care for the environment by training, involving and raising awareness among employees, customers and the community in general. Imagen
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
For eleven years we have been calculating the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions of our operations in order to evaluate the behavior of our gasoline and electricity consumption in order to define actions that will allow us to improve our performance.
Climate Change
Gentera has a risk map of the locations most vulnerable to hydro-meteorological changes in Mexico.
Actions for the environment
We are committed to disseminate and encourage activities that promote sustainable development and are of added value for our stakeholders.
LEED Certification
The building that houses the group's headquarters in Mexico is LEED Silver certified for its location, indoor environmental quality, energy savings, water efficiency and waste management.
Resource consumption monitoring
We monitor the consumption of electricity and gasoline derived from the activities of Gentera and its companies to identify medium-term opportunities. We measure the waste generated by our operation for its proper management (destruction, recycling and final disposal) and the efficient use of resources.
Environmental engagement
We encourage our employees to participate in actions in favor of the environment, such as the annual reforestation. The volunteer program, managed by Fundación Compartamos, has among its lines of intervention the care for the environment.
